This 5-day tour offers a thrilling blend of savannah wildlife and rainforest exploration. Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Akagera National Park

 Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM with a pick-up from your hotel. 

We'll drive to Akagera National Park, stopping at Imigongo Café along the way. 

Upon arrival, you'll register and be briefed by a park guide before embarking on a half-day game drive. You'll spot animals such as giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and elephants, followed by check-in at Akagera Game Lodge. 

In the evening, enjoy a night game drive to see nocturnal animals like leopards and hyenas. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

 Day Two: Full-day game drive and Lake Ihema boat cruise 

 after an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive starting at 7:00 AM.

You'll traverse the park from the south to the north, spotting the Big Five, zebras, antelopes, and enjoying the park's stunning landscapes. After lunch, check in at Karenge Bush Camp and prepare for a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you'll learn about the symbiotic relationship between hippos and crocodiles.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park with cultural site visits

following breakfast, embark on a 6-hour drive to Nyungwe National Park.

 En route, visit the King's Palace Museum to explore Rwanda's royal history and the Ethnographic Museum in Butare to learn about Rwandan culture. Upon arrival at Nyungwe, check in at the Chimpanzee Lodge for an overnight stay.

 Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk 

Begin the day with a chimpanzee trek after a briefing at the park reception. Track Rwanda’s wild chimpanzees and encounter other primates, birds, and plants in the lush rainforest. After lunch, enjoy an exhilarating canopy walk before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Safari exclusions:

To confirm a booking, a deposit of 70% of the total cost of the tour is required. And the balance of 30% has to be paid 30 days before the tour start date. If the booking is being confirmed within 30 days to the tour start date, then the total tour cost should be paid in full.

Any cancellation must be done via the email of Thinko Travel and Tourism, and the cancellations for paid bookings will be refunded less the cancellation fees for administration cost and other costs as below: You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges. 

 • Cancellation fee of 30% if the tour is cancelled within 30 days and above prior to the arrival date;

 • Cancellation fee of 50% if the tour is cancelled between 16 and 30 days prior to the arrival date; 

• Cancellation fee of 100% if the tour is cancelled within 15 days and less prior to the arrival date The refund will be done to the same account and using the same mode which was used for the payments. Note that there is no refund in the event of a no show for the existing reservations.
