Day One: Arrival in Kigali 

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our guide/driver and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. The drive from the airport to the hotel takes approximately 20 minutes.

 Day Two: Scenic Transfer & Canopy Walk

7:00 AM: Your adventure begins with a pickup from your Kigali hotel. Embark on a picturesque drive through the Rwandan countryside, heading southwest to Nyungwe National Park.

 The 230 km journey takes approximately 5-6 hours, including a scenic lunch stop en route. 2:00 PM: Arrive at the Uwinka Visitor Center in Nyungwe. Prepare to be amazed as you embark on the iconic Canopy Walk. Suspended 50 meters above the forest floor, this thrilling walkway offers panoramic views of the rainforest, rolling hills, and surrounding tea plantations. 

Evening: Check in at your accommodation for the night—choose from the comfortable Chimpanzee Lodge or the charming Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Tea Plantation Tour

Early Morning: Begin the day with a briefing at the park reception before setting off on an exhilarating chimpanzee trek. Experience the excitement of tracking Rwanda’s wild chimpanzees and encounter a variety of other primates, birds, and plants in this biodiverse forest.

 Lunch: Enjoy a tasty meal at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel. 

3:00 PM: In the afternoon, dive into the local culture with a tour of a nearby tea plantation. Discover the process of tea production and appreciate the lush landscapes of the plantation.

 Evening:  Return to your lodge for a restful evening. Reflect on the day's adventures and savor a delicious dinner.

Day 4: Waterfall Trail & Return to Kigali

Morning: After breakfast, head back to the park for a guided walk to the picturesque waterfall. The trail offers opportunities to spot more wildlife and learn about the diverse plant life of the forest. Lunch: Relish a final meal at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel before embarking on the drive back to Kigali. 

Afternoon: Depart Nyungwe and enjoy a scenic drive, with options to explore Kibuye or simply relax on your way back to Kigali.

Safari exclusions:

• alcoholic drinks, • buying souvenirs, • tips and donations, • Personal expenses. 

To confirm a booking, a deposit of 70% of the total cost of the tour is required. And the balance of 30% has to be paid 30 days before the tour start date. If the booking is being confirmed within 30 days to the tour start date, then the total tour cost should be paid in full.

Any cancellation must be done via the email of Thinko Travel and Tourism, and the cancellations for paid bookings will be refunded less the cancellation fees for administration cost and other costs as below: You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges. 

 • Cancellation fee of 30% if the tour is cancelled within 30 days and above prior to the arrival date;

 • Cancellation fee of 50% if the tour is cancelled between 16 and 30 days prior to the arrival date; 

• Cancellation fee of 100% if the tour is cancelled within 15 days and less prior to the arrival date The refund will be done to the same account and using the same mode which was used for the payments. Note that there is no refund in the event of a no show for the existing reservations.
