DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Community Cultural Tour

Pick-up from your Kigali hotel and drive east toward Akagera National Park. Enjoy a brief stop at Imigongo Café. Arrive and check in at the Lodge.

Lunch and refresh. start your community cultural experience in the nearby villages. This immersive tour includes:

Traditional cow milking

Local honey tasting

Cooking demonstrations

Cultural dances and music

Learning and making Imigongo paintings Rwanda’s famous geometric art This experience is the perfect way to connect with local life and set the tone for your safari adventure.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive + Boat Cruise

Depart your lodge and head to Akagera National Park’s main entrance.

After registration and a quick briefing, begin your full-day safari.

• Explore the southern sector, where you can spot giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffalos, and numerous bird species.

• Travel through scenic hills and along lake shores, offering beautiful panoramic views and chances for photos.

• 4:30 PM: Enjoy a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, Rwanda’s second-largest lake. Witness hippos, crocodiles, and various aquatic birds in their natural habitat. Learn about the fascinating symbiosis between hippos, crocodiles, and bird species from your guide.

• After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and a restful night

Day 3: Full-Day Wildlife Experience & Return

• Start the day with another exciting game drive, this time traversing the park from south to north.

• Look out for Big Five animals—lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo—as well as antelopes, impalas, warthogs, and more.

• Capture the stunning landscapes of rolling hills, swamps, lakes, and open plains that make Akagera unique.

• After reaching the exit of the park, begin your return journey to Kigali. Expected arrival in the late afternoon.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Booking Confirmation

To confirm a booking, a deposit of 70% of the total cost of the tour is required. And the balance of 30% has to be paid 30 days before the tour start date. If the booking is being confirmed within 30 days to the tour start date, then the total tour cost should be paid in full.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Any cancellation must be done via the email of Thinko Travel and Tourism, and the cancellations for paid bookings will be refunded less the cancellation fees for administration cost and other costs as below: You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges.

• Cancellation fee of 30% if the tour is cancelled within 30 days and above prior to the arrival date;

• Cancellation fee of 50% if the tour is cancelled between 16 and 30 days prior to the arrival date;

• Cancellation fee of 100% if the tour is cancelled within 15 days and less prior to the arrival date The refund will be done to the same account and using the same mode which was used for the payments. Note that there is no refund in the event of a no show for the existing reservations.
