The unique opportunity to see twelve gorilla families in their natural habitat is unforgettable, some even say life changing. Encounters with gorillas as they go about their daily lives are carefully managed, with expert trackers and guides leading small groups of tourists up bamboo-covered slopes to spend a precious and awe-inspiring hour just a few feet away from the gentle creatures. Kigali City Tour will allow you to learn about the history of Rwanda by visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial and other Museums.

Day One: Welcome to Rwanda! 

You will be picked up by our guide/driver when you arrive at the Kigali International Airport who will transfer you to hotel where you’ll spend the night. Distance from Kigali airport to the hotel: 20 min.

 At 7:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel and embark your journey to Akagera National park with a quick stopover at Imigongo café for a quick breakfast (if not packed from the hotel or apartment). 

 Day Two: Transfer to Musanze for Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park 

 You will have breakfast at the hotel and The journey begins as early as 4 AM local time from Kigali City to Kinigi/Musanze to trek endangered mountain gorillas. 

We expect arrival to RDB Office Kinigi around 6:30AM for registration, allocation into groups and briefing from the park guide. 

We also advise you to be in good physical condition before starting the activity because it might be tough depending on the gorilla group you are assigned.

 Long sleeve shirts and pants, hand gloves, rain jackets, and hiking boots are recommended for gorilla trekking. Visitors can hire a porter to help with their luggage for roughly $15.  After Trekking, lunch will be served at Migano restaurant, before driving back to Kigali.

Day 3: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to the Airport

After breakfast, you will proceed with check out at the hotel and you start the Kigali City Tour by visiting Kandt Museum for the history of Rwanda before and during the colonial period, followed by Kigali Genocide Memorial which is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. 

After you will visit the Campaign against Genocide Museum located in the Parliament building and enjoy the beautiful view of Kigali City through the rooftop of the building. After you will have a lunch and visit of Kimironko market with shopping the souvenirs (depending on the flight time), and our driver guide will transfer you to the airport for your departure.

To confirm a booking, a deposit of 70% of the total cost of the tour is required. And the balance of 30% has to be paid 30 days before the tour start date. If the booking is being confirmed within 30 days to the tour start date, then the total tour cost should be paid in full.

Any cancellation must be done via the email of Thinko Travel and Tourism, and the cancellations for paid bookings will be refunded less the cancellation fees for administration cost and other costs as below: You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges. 

 • Cancellation fee of 30% if the tour is cancelled within 30 days and above prior to the arrival date;

 • Cancellation fee of 50% if the tour is cancelled between 16 and 30 days prior to the arrival date; 

• Cancellation fee of 100% if the tour is cancelled within 15 days and less prior to the arrival date The refund will be done to the same account and using the same mode which was used for the payments. Note that there is no refund in the event of a no show for the existing reservations.
